Prevention

Brain Health

Assessment and protection of memory, thinking and cognitive health.

Concerns about memory are common and are often either dismissed or catastrophised. This program assesses cognition properly, identifies the many treatable things that affect thinking, and works on the factors associated with maintaining cognitive health.

What it involves

  • Structured cognitive assessment
  • Review of contributors — sleep, hearing, mood, medication, vascular health
  • Attention to hearing and vision, which are frequently overlooked
  • A plan focused on what is modifiable
  • Re-assessment over time so change is visible

Coverage

Insured and uninsured components

This program combines insured and uninsured components. Insured physician services and any medically necessary investigations are billed to MSP as usual. The uninsured components — assessment depth beyond what MSP covers, planning, coordination and ongoing monitoring — are covered by your membership.

This program does not guarantee access to or replace a General Practitioner, Family Physician, or any Medical Service Plan (MSP) insured primary care services. It also does not provide expedited access to MSP-covered laboratory tests, diagnostic investigations, or specialist referrals.

How to access this program
