Optimization

Longevity Medicine

Evidence-based work on extending the years you spend in good function.

An approach concerned with functional years rather than years alone. It draws on what the evidence currently supports — physical capacity, metabolic health, sleep, cognition and social connection — and is explicit about the limits of what is known.

What it involves

  • Review of the factors most associated with maintained function
  • A prioritised plan, focused on a small number of changes
  • Regular re-measurement of what is being worked on
  • Honest discussion of what the evidence does and does not support
